John W. Luke re-enlists
1st Lieutenant, John Luke musters out after three years of service. The 15th Illinois Infantry is then reorganized and consolidated with 14th Infantry in July of 1864. They are then referred to as the "14th and 15th Illinois Veteran Battalion " John Wesley Luke re-enlist as Captain and takes command of Company E and stays in command of the said Company until the end of the war.
